Cold Room has started to gather a talented pool of writers to bring to bear on any project, any genre and not just games!  Individually or in teams, Cold Room has beefed up its resources to serve our clients’ expanding needs. Speaking of expansion, looks like the Cold Room’s gonna need to knock out a wall to make more room. More writers coming soon!

Cam is a dual Emmy-wielding writer with 14+ years experience creating at major Hollywood studios like Netflix, Sony, and Warner Brothers. Raised in an arcade and weened on Dungeons & Dragons, he thrives as a collaborative storyteller who works across technical disciplines. Cam authored a trilogy of sci-fantasy novels published by Disney, so world-building is his happy place.

Cam is currently writing for OnceLost Games on their groundbreaking new “Grand RPG” founded by The Elder Scrolls veterans. When he’s not endangering characters with impossible situations, he’s rolling dice in his home dungeon or falling from high places in a video game.

Haley Cohen is an Independent Short Awards-winning comedy writer. She recently graduated from The Second City’s Conservatory Program, and her pilot scripts have placed in several writing competitions, such as the Austin Film Festival, PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, and ScreenCraft.

Her first self-produced web series pilot, Walkie-Talkie, was nominated for Best Web/TV Pilot at Indie Short Fest, IndieX Fest, and the Baltimore Next Media Web Fest, and was an official selection at the Toronto Film Magazine Fest and IFS L.A. Film Fest. It was also a recent semi-finalist in the Palm Springs International Film Awards. Currently, Haley is developing Walkie-Talkie as a narrative podcast.

Amanda Dempsey is a highly sought-after art director, illustrator, designer and writer who has worked with major brands such as Mattel, DC, and Warner Bros. She has created content and worked alongside luminaries such as Hugh Fink, Robert Lence, Clay MacLeod Chapman, Craig William Macneill and Don Bluth. Her work can be seen on HBO, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu to name a few.

Amanda has contributed to pop culture and entertainment in every genre from family to horror. Her current high-level collaborations include the global mindshare brands Harley Quinn, Norm of the North and Chucky.

Casey Driver is a novelist and storyteller whose comedy skits have gone viral on TikTok, with millions of views and 300,000+ fans. While in college, he worked with the game developer Red Ego Games, and had the opportunity to create marketing campaigns and advertisements for the Microsoft Store in Century City. Since graduating, he has worked as a freelance writer, creating website copy for companies such as Besamé Cosmetics.

He spends his free time listening to audio books, playing the latest games and watching movies. Casey’s first novel, Sorce: Birth of Echo, is set to be published by Encyclopocalypse Publications in the Summer of 2023.

Mark Miller is a Saturn-Award winning producer and New York Times Bestselling author. He has written and produced dozens of titles across high-level outlets. He’s developed and created content with Stan Lee, Clive Barker, Tom Holland, Joe R. Lansdale, Dark Horse Comics, Boom Studios, St. Martin’s Press and more.

Additionally feature and television work has been seen on Prime, Peacock, Netflix, and Hulu. He is the Founder and President of Encyclopocalypse Publications, which boasts top tier clientele and titles across all genres. Mark has represented, organized, developed, and produced hundreds of hours of content that have grossed millions of dollars for his clients and collaborators.

Bret Nelson is an Emmy Award-winning creator who has written and produced dozens of video games for mobile, PC, and the Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox consoles. His short fiction has found print in magazines and anthologies, and his novelization of the film Manborg was published this year. In addition, he has directed and produced numerous preschool and primetime television programs, and has been trusted with I.P. like Buzz Lightyear, Kermit the Frog, and Conan the Cimmerian. 

Bret just completed the pilot for a web series he is developing on behalf of a Cold Room game client.

Robert Parigi wrote and directed indie-horror hit LOVE OBJECT, winner of 5 international film festival awards including Premiere Prize and Critics’ Prize (Gerardmer, France) and Best Screenplay (Malaga, Spain). 

Parigi honed his story sense while working as a script reader for Michael De Luca, CEO of Warner Bros. Picture Group.

In addition to writing and directing, Parigi produces for cutting-edge studios such as Marvel Television (AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D., HELSTROM), leading Hollywood artists such as Walter Hill, Robert Zemeckis, Richard Donner, Joel Silver (TALES FROM THE CRYPT), and Mike Judge (BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD).  He has developed projects for Marilyn Manson and international television.
